The History

WE Speak was founded in 2016 by Robyn L. McCoy and Diane Johnson Arrington, who were both widowed in 2015. When Robyn and Diane met, they were at the darkest point in their grief journeys. Desperate for hope, help, and healing, God gave them the vision for WE Speak. They soon began brainstorming and designing ways to help the widowed community. Ultimately, they started hosting retreats, small groups, and coaching for those who had been impacted by the devastation of losing their spouse.

In April 2023, Robyn and Diane partnered with Sharon L. Grant, who has been widowed for over twenty years. The collaboration between these three widows created this platform called WE Speak Movement. Not only are retreats offered, but the door has been opened for widows and widowers to speak about their experience through the production From WE to Me. This production and the game they created called What Not to Say provide a fun and impactful way to help families, friends, and those who desire to walk with this community and better understand the journey.
